Our Process
We're quite textbook when it comes to engineering best practices. In general we follow the System Development Life Cycle for Planning, creating, testing and deploying our applications to the world.
1. Planning
In the planning phase, project goals are determined and a high-level plan for the intended project is established. Our first few meetings will be aimed at eliminating the unknowns and identifying the scope of the project. A few of our goals are to develop a project plan that consists of cost esitmates, a schedule, and an assessment to idnetify how feasible the stakeholder's requirements are.
2. Analysis and Requirements
In the Analysis phase, the stakeholder's requirements are analyzed and project goals are converted into the defined system functions that we intend to develop. We don't worry too much about implementation here, but more of what the system must do with respect to the business. At this point we split hte project into phases.
3. Design and Prototyping
In the design phase, we describe the desired features and operations of the system. We come up with prototypes and determine the most effortless user experience coupled with flexible and expressive user interfaces. User testing and accessibility all play a role in our initial designs. Before we head to the development phase, we remain in open communication with the stakeholders to ensure that their ideas are turned into the reality that they've imagined.
4. Development
In the development phase, all the documents from the previous phase are transformed into the actual system. Development of the software begins. Client, Backend, and Database development is completed during this phase. At the end of our development phase the stakeholder should expect a fully testable and functional application.
5. Testing
In the testing phase, all the pieces of code are integrated and deployed in the testing environment. Although unit tests are written throughout development, we take it a step further in this phase. We ensure excellent code coverage and test more than just the code. With the fully functoinal application done at this point we provide the option to release a beta before final deployment.
6. Deployment
During deployment, the application is deployed to it's respective appstore or environment where the actual user begins to operate the system.
7. Maintenance
In the maintenance phase, any necessary enhancements, corrections, and changes will be made to make sure the system continues to work, and stay updated to meet the business goals. Depending on the type of contract forged, this could be a long time partnership or we could just provide resources wherever needed.
